| So yesterday, at a lovely Jamaican restaurant, my family, and a friend celebrated my little brother's 21st birthday!
It's so hard to believe that he's really 21. I mean, I used to help change his diapers, tell him ridiculous stories that he would believe, play outside with, eat dinner with... Now he's a 6 foot tall dude with a beard and hangs out with friends....
So weird when people close to you grow up.
What's new in my life? I painted my fingernails "Pearl Pink" and I started reading "A Thousand Splendid Suns" this weekend... it's amazingly inspiring and humbling... I can't wait to finish it.
I highly recommend it to everyone... I mean seriously, you'll really appreciate your own life when you read it.
Take care, and until we meet again...

| So Hello Everyone,
Iris Carmen here, just saying hello... I know it's been a while but I guess I've just been struggling with myself... who hasn't these days?
I'm initiating a change. I'm single... I'm definitely not looking, and I'm just doing my best to finish this book and travel the world.
At the end of this month, I'm going to the Virgin Islands (whoooo!)
And around Christmas time, I'm probably heading out to Venice, Italy to experience post-Christmas joy.... I will be there for new years as well.
Then next spring, I plan on making it to Paris, France.... and after that... who knows? (I definitely hope to make it to Aruba or maybe even Spain).
Tackling the world, one day at a time.
Who's with me? Does anyone like to travel? Where have you been? How did you like it?
Comment! Suggest! Inquire!
Let me know who you are!
Goodbye my Lovelies!

| I think I'm growing up.
I think I'm actually growing up.
I'm trying harder not to stress myself as much. Trying to take it easy. Trying to find things that I'm passionate about. Trying to actively learn things about myself.
I don't know why I seemed to think that at the age of 24 that I already knew all I could know about myself. But there's so much more to me than what I've accumulated so far. How come I never saw this before? I have no idea.
I guess I'll get into more details later.
Right now, I'm going to give a shoutout to the "Dominican Scholar"
Congrats on your college graduation. Hope to hear from you soon.

| I'm highly amused at the moment.
I'm learning to appreciate some showtunes thanks to the sheer vocal and comedic brilliance of Andrea Burns, who is currently one of the stars of "In The Heights" on Broadway.
My personal favorites are:
-A Little Brains, A Little Talent (does with utter perfection)
-Through The Eyes of Grace (so sad, yet beautiful)
-What More Do I Need? (dripping with the craziness of NYC)
and my personal favorite (because of the singing, the content of the song, and the fact that it was written by Lin-Manuel Miranda)
BTW, Write back (a song about an obsessed online fan)
Please by this album. So great. =)
Love, Iris Carmen

| Will update this after lunch today.
Until then, I highly recommend two albums (they are completely different genres).
Circus (Deluxe Edition) - Britney Spears
A Deeper Shade of Red - Andrea Burns
